For The Love Of Grandmas

My grandma has always been a big inspiration to me. Whether teaching me how to crochet a granny square, or taking me  to the craft store to pick out yarn, she always goes out of her way to help me fuel my creative juices. So I'd like to dedicate this post to my grandma. A few days ago she had me over her house so we could needle felt together. It was so fun! My little bird Pandien(see previous post) was the product of our get together, and my grandma gave me her finished duck! He's soooo cuuute!

Me and my grandma learning to needle felt.
The little bird grandma gave me...what should I call him..?

At the time we peeled apart yarn to make make-shift roving, however my grandma bought me 16 ounces of pure wool! It's so soft I love Working with it!

An Adorable Forest For Teensy felties

I started needle felting about a week ago and I absolutely love it! It's so fun making tiny, delicate, needle felted creatures that fit in the palm of your hand!
My first creation was a tiny duckling(unfortunately no pictures of it) I gave it to my grandmother. After that I started making all kinds of teensy friends! A few felties later I realized It would be nice to have a creative way to take pictures of my needle felted animals. So I took out an old wooden box and got to work!

with a little paint ,some foam mushrooms, cloth flowers, and polymer clay, I made a tiny forest for my little felted miniatures!

It turned out sort of like a shadow box. I would like to make one for every season! I suppose this one is for spring!

A Bunch Of Weirdies

Well  I showed you one keychain and now I've made lots more alien things....I named them too.
bin-bin
smarty-pants

pinny
bin-bin was definitely the most fun to make! I've actually made more alien things then this, I just haven't gotten pictures of them yet. I made a couple of my aliens out of recycled t-shirts! I love taking something old and giving it new life!! I'm honing my sewing skills so I can make more dresses for my dolls. Amiki's was the first, and hopefully not the last!!

I Tried Something A Little....Weird

Yesterday I was helping my little brother with a "sew your own teddy bear kit" When I realized that the bear was made entirely out of felt! I'm not much for sewing but I broke out the stash of felt and this is what I came up with. He's a little ....Different, but I actually think he's kind of cute! I gave this key chain to my big brother, although I was sorely tempted to keep it. XD

I guess he's an alien....?
I was so happy with him when I finished that I'm considering making some more! :)

I want to put some more free patterns up soon! I just bought some bamboo yarn,(it's expensive but totally worth it) and I'm making a sweet kitty with it....maybe I'll put the pattern on my blog. :D

Amiki's Ready For Spring!

Hi There everybody ! I Finally got around to making another post, I have been going through a crochet lapse as of late so I haven't had anything to blog about... But I finally got some inspiration and made this amigurumi bunny girl, Amiki! I sewed the dress this time so the clothes aren't so bulky ^_^ . They are all removable too! She reminds me of the old fashioned toy bunnies, with her bonnet and little capelet!

I crocheted with ribbon around her bonnet!

She'll be on Etsy soon. Amiki looks like she is about to go too a picnic. It would have been nice to take photos of her outside, But since it's snowing here I didn't think that would be the best idea!

My Alien / Monster Bag

I finally finished my monster bag!! I originally got the idea for a monster plush bag in a sewing book, However since I can't sew I had to think up the pattern myself. I doesn't hold a ton of stuff, just your essentials(wallet,phone,..etc).  It think the bag is pretty funny because you have to stick your hand in his mouth to get your stuff out Someone commented to me that it looks kinda like a cat though. ^_^

does it really look like a cat...?
aaah! He ate my wallet!!!
