Hanging With The Horses

Hi all! I haven't posted in soooo looooong. Sorry! I've just gotten a bit off track! I have a different sort a post today! A few days ago, my cousin came over to my house to hang out. My cousin, Little brother, and I went walking down the little country road that leads to the gas-station(we were going to buy soda and snacks)When we came across a pasture with three horses in it. I've walked past that field a hundred times, but I never really stopped to look at the horses. They walked right up to the fence and stared at us. We were transfixed, they were so pretty! The friendliest was a dark brown horse with completely black eyes. It (I don't know if it was a he or she) ate right out of our hands.

                                                               I got lots of pictures!

                                                                     Isn't it pretty!? :)

Their was also this lovely horsy, with the bright blue eyes! They were so pretty.

Maybe it's blind??? I know nothing about horses XD

I also took pictures of my peeps posing on the cutest tiny bridge.
My cousin ended up staying the night, and we had a great time drinking sonic shakes, making up stories, and playing games on my tablet! My cousin also watched Sweeney Todd for the first time, which was ultra fun! It was a great night! :)

Alrighty! Here are the little ninjas I made for my lil cousins b-days on the $th of July (Yeah, I haven't blogged in a while LOL) I've been commissioned by another little friend to make some ninjas, so I've got my hands full!

I've also been drawing a lot lately ^_^ I've been busy!!

I drew this one for a contest!

I hope to blog more soon. I've been working on some cute new plushies, and can't wait to show them off! :D                                                                        Until then!

Experimenting With Jointing

I love making dolls, but my biggest problem is that the legs are always really stiff, and I can't get the doll to sit down! Well, that problem is no more! I found a blog with a tutorial on how to thread joint legs, and it worked! You can find a link to that blog HERE. Another thing I wanted to try was jointing heads. I've used safety eyes to joint ami heads before, but that always seemed a little flimsy to me, and I had to make the hole in the neck really small. I found an easier way to do it! There is another helpful tutorial, HERE! Honestly I don't know what I would do without the internet....
Anyway! I made a doll with jointed legs and head! Her name is Sasha and I absolutely LOVE her!!

I'm getting better at styling doll hair too! I just used plain black yarn for Sasha's hair, hooking it into the scalp every two rows until I reached the crown, then hooking in long bangs, and cutting them to the desired length.

I made a few other toys with jointed necks as well, Beep the robot kitty, and Nicolo the bear.

Nicolo is sort of like Pirate Bears stalker (LOL) I figured since he was an angry looking bear he should join the crew of the Sunshiney (Pirate Bear's ship, if you don't remember) He's a stow-away!
I want to make a newer, cooler version of pirate bear, maybe I will change his color scheme to something more masculine....I could also make him a hat, now that I know how to do it!

Beep is a robot kitty, I've had these buttons for quite a while, and they make perfect robot eyes! The Caron simply soft looked really shiny too, kind of like metal.

I also figured I should try and make something else with my abundance of felt, so I drew out a cheezy little 2D sewing pattern on some graph paper. I love the way plush food looks (so cute!!) so I drew an ice cream cone and a cupcake, and cut them out.

I wasn't entirely sure these were good enough, but I used the cupcake template, and cut out some felt. Here's what I made!

I love him, and now I can make as many cupcakes as I want!! The ice cream should be next.

Oh yeah, I drew on the graph paper too...I have lots of sketchbooks, but I hate ruining the completely white pages by DRAWING on them(ironic I know)! Aaaaanyways, I keep saying I will post up more of my pictures, and I never do....So here is something I sketched onto said graph paper.

This guy keeps popping up all over my sketch books...He's kinda creepy looking, but I like him.I haven't thought of his story yet though....

I'm starting to ramble, so I will take my leave. Until next time! *waves*

Another Awesome Blog Feature, And Some New Bearlings!

A few days ago, I won a contest hosted by Buttercrumble.com! The prizes were:
-3 months of free advertising on their website
-1 free digital drawing
-and a blog post featuring yours truly! (wink, wink)

Ok, you HAVE to look at their website, the artwork is absolutely adorable!! Look at the custom bearling they drew for me!! I absolutely love him!!! >.<

                                                           Isn't he just AMAZING!!??

Be sure to check out the website (and my feature!!) HERE!

In other news, I made a giant bearling!! Cool huh?
He's about three times the size of my original bearlings. His eyes were a bit different because I drew them completely black, instead of giving him an eye color. I used the wrong side again, I think it's growing on me....

Sorry for the bad picture quality on this one! >.<

My mom has been urging me to make a giant ninja, so maybe that will come next! ;)
                                                                           See ya soon!

New Yarn + Logo Idea!

Hi Everyone! I went to Big Lots a few days ago, and they were having a 20% off sale on everything in the store! You know what that means? 80 cent yarn! Nothings better than brand new yarn at bargain prices!

I especially like the blue :)
It's pretty yarn too! I wonder what cuties will be created from these? I usually don't buy fancy yarns unless it's on sale. The main reason I refrain from buying is because I have a ton of yarn already (bins and bins full). The second reason is because I'm cheap lol (I'm not ashamed, it's a fact).  I did buy quite a bit yesterday though. in addition to the yarn, I bought beads, an 8 gb sd card (for my new nextbook tablet!),some tissue paper, and a pack of mechanical pencils (one can never have too many pencils). Now I have to force myself not to spend money for a while!

I made another custom ninja! These babies are selling like hotcakes!! Here he is! :)
A tiny warrior with a blue suit and blue eyes! He will be shipped off to his new home soon! :D

I also said farewell to Isabel! It's sad...I really liked her...."sniff"....Oh well no need to get teary eyed, I'll just have to make her sister or brother to keep me company! ;}

My parents gave me their old scanner, so I have been messing around, trying to make a good logo for my shop, here is one picture I scanned in, and colored on photoshop. It's a bearling, I really like it! I'm hoping to make a recognizable logo for my store, maybe this will be it! I am hoping to design some business cards soon as well! What do you think? Is this good enough to be a logo?

Isn't he a sweety?!

I'm working on a blue something, not sure what it is yet, but it's something!

A blue something...?

                                                             Will post more soon!

Another Mini Capsule Pet Amigurumi: Isabel The Octopus!

A new Mini Capsule Pet: Isabel the purple octopus!! I even had a purple capsule to put her in :)
This is my first project using the glass beads I told you about. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, and hope to use a lot more of these beads on dolls in the future! (after all I have, like, a billion of them)

Sometimes it's kind of frustrating crocheting so many tiny parts, but it's worth it in the end! However, I always seem to have to shove in the last leg among the seven. I need to learn to space them more evenly!
I  needle-felted Isabel's mouth

Here is something different. I have only ever posted one of my drawings on my blog, but I want to start posting more! This is a little girl I drew in 2010, and only recently came across in my shelf. She was inspired by Mei from My Neighbor Totoro (one of my favorite Studio Ghibli films). This was the first drawing I inked using a calligraphy dip pen.
