Little Cuties and Big Stress

O.M.G. Their is a 20% rain chance on Saturday. SATURDAY IS THE DAY OF MY CRAFT FAIR!!! Please, no....

On a happier note, I took some pics  of my newest creations~! These little guys are made from a super simple body pattern that was easy to write up~! I'm very happy with how they came out, and I'm working on another one right now~! It's nice to take a break from anime style dolls once in a while to make something old fashioned-looking~! :)

Making overalls was a first for me, but it's essentially the same as making a dress...only with leg holes! XD

You can see how simple the body is, just circles and tubes, and no fancy detailing. The fact that their so simple is what makes me like them~! They work up fast too~! :D

I'm seriously hoping it's not going to rain Saturday...that would kill me... >_>

Mermaids and Elf Guys~♥

I've been away for so long~! I should have blogged a lot sooner, sorry~! Anyhoo, I've made quite a bit of stuff since last time~! I've been working like crazy on some mermaids (I'm just in a mermaid mood) and mermen~! Here are some pics~!

This is Celestia, she is the youngest of 200 mermaid sisters~

This is Andre, he is an aspiring warrior in king Triton's army, although right now, he is to young to join~

This is Rosalia, she is the sweet little niece of king Triton

I really love Rosalia, she turned out so small and cute~! > v <

I also made this guy, his name is Elroah, and he's an ELF NOT A VAMPIRE (everyone keeps saying he looks like a vampire >_> )
I'm happy about how he turned out, but it took me FOREVER to make him. I used roving to needle felt his hair in, so that took about 2 hours(no joke) and then I had to make his cloak...that took a while too.

I got bored a few days ago, so I started messing with some pictures on Photoshop. So, to say farewell, here is some bearling modern art~!

 Until next time~!

New Anime Girl!

Well, here she is! Completely finished! I actually used the wrong side for her head, because I thought it would help the eyes stay on better. This is the first time I've used the wrong side, and I actually don't mind it for the face, because it looks smooth. I think I will stick with the right side for all of the other doll body parts.

I absolutely LOVE red haired dolls, and I managed to give this little lady a fairly anime-ish hair style!
I love the yarn her hair is made out of (although I can't remember what it's called..)!
Her dress is made from the sleeve of one of my old shirts (recycling lol), I have a ton of old clothes that can be used up for doll dresses, if only I was a wee bit better at sewing...anyway, I'm going to look up some clothes making tutorials online, and hopefully that will help! ^_^

Also, I made a cute badge for my blog! ( I'm hoping to get one of those html boxes up soon!)

and...a signature! Now I can say goodbye with style! ;)

Knit And Crochet Design Week: Day Three, Yarn!!

Picking the yarn you want for a particular project , is , in my opinion, one of the hardest parts of the design process. Finding the yarn that will perfectly suit your project is a bit difficult, because it's hard to tell if it will turn out the way you picture it! However I think I have narrowed down my choices to two. I know that I want panda to be either purple or blue. I bought new yarn just a few days ago and I love the texture, I'm just not sure which color to go with!! It's Gala yarn, A mixture of Acrylic, Polyester, and Nylon, and it's sooo soft.

I am definitely using this white yarn for the body and head. It's fingering weight yarn, and I wanted to make panda kind of dainty. The problem is I'm not sure I will like the way the Gala yarn looks beside this white yarn. I may have to make a swatch to see how they look together.

Another difficulty is finding yarn that matches the felt colors I have chosen. Here is a picture of the blue yarn. As you can see It doesn't exactly match up with any of my felt selections. The purple matched a little better, but I'm leaning towards a boy panda.

Don't be surprised if panda isn't made out of this yarn, I'm a bit fickle when it comes to yarn selection. This yarn may get tossed in exchange for something brighter (metaphorically speaking, I'm not actually going to toss my precious yarn!!). And for panda's shoes, if it's a boy I may go with yellow or red,  a galosh/rain-boot kinda look. If it's a girl, maybe some cute little mary-jane's, in black or pink? Oh there's so many choices, what's a girl to do!?

Be sure to take a look at Stacey's daythree post, and find links to all the other participant's posts HERE!!!

A Tragedy + Cute New Amigurumi

I'm sorry everyone ^_^;  I would have posted sooner, but a horrible tragedy has befallen me ( ok maybe that's a little dramatic..). Bet you can't guess....I LOST MY FLASH DRIVE!!! How am I supposed to upload pictures without the use of a flash drive!! But oh well....my dad said he'd give me a new one ;) Until then however, You will just have to do with these pics I pulled off of my Etsy listings. I had wip pics and more (I was gearing up for a long post) But for now this is it.

Here is the finished blue anime doll. She is a mermaid named Veera. I made her differently than I usually make mermaids. I added the tail after making the body instead of working it in. I slip stitched into the bottom half, and worked on both sides to make the opening, then I gradually decreased and added the fin. The difference is that now she can bend at the waist! I had some wip pics of the tails workings, but I don't have them anymore... :(

I sorta got the name from the designer Veera Wang lol XD I love her shoes :)

Also, I made some new capsule pets! Chipper the bird, and Toki the cat!As you can see, I've been putting those beads to good use. :)

Oh did I tell you about the Etsy team? No? Well there is a team on Etsy called Just Plush, and I was made first, an admin to the facebook page, and then a leader of the etsy team!! I know It's probably a little silly to be excited about it, but it makes me happy anyway. >v<   The team is doing a pattern trade soon, and I will probably be trading one of my amigurumi patterns with another members. Then we will compare work! Sounds fun right? If you are a plush maker on Etsy, you should apply for the team! here is a link : right here!

I said goodbye to Mimi and Sweeta today, they are off to a loving new home! I also made a custom order ninja, for another wonderful customer!

Bye-bye Mimi
You too Sweeta! I'll miss you!
I am working on a new bearling right now! I'm also thinking about making a mini capsule pet ninja, that would be neat....

Work In Progress And A Nifty Book

It's wednesday again!! Here is my Work-In-Progress pic of the day!

An Anime Style Blue Doll

She's going to be a doll....but I'm not entirely sure what kind yet. I've gotten her hair done, but you will have to wait to see that. ;} I haven't made a regular sized doll in quite some time! It's slow going right now, I just need to sit down and get to work!!

I just finished writing chapter four of my novel!! I'm about to begin chapter five (the middle section will be the most difficult I'm sure) :P

While I'm on the subject of books, here is a great one my cousin picked up for me at the library! This is a great book, if you feel your shop is lacking, or, are a new seller to Etsy, and need some tips and tricks.

It tells you how to get the most exposure on social networking sites, and has step by step instructions on starting, or revamping, your Etsy store!

I was inspired by this book, and made a new banner for my store! Maybe a custom twitter background is in order next..?

I should have more pics of the little blue doll soon! Talk to you later!

Another Mini Capsule Pet Amigurumi: Isabel The Octopus!

A new Mini Capsule Pet: Isabel the purple octopus!! I even had a purple capsule to put her in :)
This is my first project using the glass beads I told you about. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, and hope to use a lot more of these beads on dolls in the future! (after all I have, like, a billion of them)

Sometimes it's kind of frustrating crocheting so many tiny parts, but it's worth it in the end! However, I always seem to have to shove in the last leg among the seven. I need to learn to space them more evenly!
I  needle-felted Isabel's mouth

Here is something different. I have only ever posted one of my drawings on my blog, but I want to start posting more! This is a little girl I drew in 2010, and only recently came across in my shelf. She was inspired by Mei from My Neighbor Totoro (one of my favorite Studio Ghibli films). This was the first drawing I inked using a calligraphy dip pen.

Another Tiny Doll

Here are the pics of the other mini doll, as promised!! This one is a little bigger than the last one..about 31/4" tall and 2" wide. I like her boa though X) She's in my Etsy store! :)

I think the next doll I crochet will be made of MUCH thinner yarn. And maybe a smaller hook.....
My mom gave me a whole ton of capsules, like the kind you get out of a candy machine. I'm pretty excited! I see tiny toys brimming on the horizon!! :D
