Knit And Crochet Design Week: Day Six, Finishing Up, And Pattern Design!!

This is the last day of design week! It was really fun, and I actually like blogging every day. :)  I finished panda today, and now it's time to show him off! But first, I'll show you the pics leading up to his creation.

Here are panda's various disembodied parts. >
 His arms at the top.
His ears in the middle.
His legs at the bottom.

<  Here are pics of panda being assembled.                              I've learned that it is not only helpful, but almost necessary to have work-in-progress pics if you are going to write a pattern to sell. Before I learned to write my own,  I used to buy patterns, and print them off of the internet. The patterns that were all text were at best O.K. But patterns with pictures to illustrate the idea or technique were much easier to follow.

Here he is all sewn up! >

And here he is with his little shoes!! They turned out a little different then I expected, more like sneakers than rainboots.

Aren't they cute though? :)

I think I may write this pattern up to sell. Usually if I write the pattern down for myself, it turns out sloppy. However, If I have intentions of selling the pattern, I'm more careful (counting stitches, writing out complete sentences and not just scribbles...etc.) I have been trying to train myself to write ALL my patterns down carefully. If I write a pattern down hap-hazardly, and I want to try and sell it, I have to re-make the item, making sure to write down any details I may have missed, and to count my stitches. After I write them out, I have to type them into the computer, add pictures, and double check my design. It takes a lot more patience then I used to think, but filling my little notebook up with my own original patterns, makes me feel happy! I love writing my own patterns. It's a great feeling when I see pictures of sweet little plushies somebody made with my Designs!

Panda turned out pretty cute, so maybe I'll make some more! ^-^
I'll probably put panda in my Etsy store soon.

Be sure to check out everyone's final design posts, here.

New Yarn + Logo Idea!

Hi Everyone! I went to Big Lots a few days ago, and they were having a 20% off sale on everything in the store! You know what that means? 80 cent yarn! Nothings better than brand new yarn at bargain prices!

I especially like the blue :)
It's pretty yarn too! I wonder what cuties will be created from these? I usually don't buy fancy yarns unless it's on sale. The main reason I refrain from buying is because I have a ton of yarn already (bins and bins full). The second reason is because I'm cheap lol (I'm not ashamed, it's a fact).  I did buy quite a bit yesterday though. in addition to the yarn, I bought beads, an 8 gb sd card (for my new nextbook tablet!),some tissue paper, and a pack of mechanical pencils (one can never have too many pencils). Now I have to force myself not to spend money for a while!

I made another custom ninja! These babies are selling like hotcakes!! Here he is! :)
A tiny warrior with a blue suit and blue eyes! He will be shipped off to his new home soon! :D

I also said farewell to Isabel! It's sad...I really liked her...."sniff"....Oh well no need to get teary eyed, I'll just have to make her sister or brother to keep me company! ;}

My parents gave me their old scanner, so I have been messing around, trying to make a good logo for my shop, here is one picture I scanned in, and colored on photoshop. It's a bearling, I really like it! I'm hoping to make a recognizable logo for my store, maybe this will be it! I am hoping to design some business cards soon as well! What do you think? Is this good enough to be a logo?

Isn't he a sweety?!

I'm working on a blue something, not sure what it is yet, but it's something!

A blue something...?

                                                             Will post more soon!

Mini Owly And More!!

Aaah I'm back again! :) The other day my grandma took me out shopping, we went to Hobby Lobby and got some awesome beads!!

The ones on the left are glass beads.
Don't these ones look like cat's eyes?! I made grandma a kitty keychain to say thank you, sadly I forgot to take pics before I sent it off. :(

And I got new shoes!!! Yaaay! I LOVE shoes X) And these ones are just my type! In fact, they look a lot like another pair I have, only that pair is old and falling apart. ( I still wear them though lol )

I <3 Wedges :)

Aaah but too the point! I said I was going to make some amigurumi to put into those capsules, remember?
Well I did :) Another owl baby! ( Sorry I'm obsessed with owls lately XD )

His name is Howard. Cute huh? He's only about an inch tall, and fits perfectly in his little capsule :D
He's available for adoption in my Etsy store.

I started another capsule critter, a purple octopus. Should have pics soon :) Until then!

If At First You Don't Succeed......

Ok, I messed up........Remember the tiny doll from a few posts back? The little red haired girl? Well I made her a bit to big for my customers doll....Observe:

The picture is kinda funny though... X)

Needless to say, I had to make another one .....

Had a bit of trouble on the hair... I worked on it for about an hour!
It was my first time ever really working with thread, It was kind of fun.
I had just bought a pack of tiny black and white buttons, they were just about right for her eyes.

The customer loved the new one!
So I guess, all's well that ends well :)

The new doll was just the right size!....Phew....

Super Duper Teeny Tiny Itty Bitty Needle Felted Hamster!

This was a super fun and easy project! (I love needle felting...<3) :D One of the little toy capsules that I mentioned became a running ball! X) It's fun to make things so tiny! This could be a hamster for a barbie, or a bjd! Or just a tiny sweet buddy.....He's in my ETSY.

The picture was a bit blurry, so It looked like he was running!

Another Tiny Doll

Here are the pics of the other mini doll, as promised!! This one is a little bigger than the last one..about 31/4" tall and 2" wide. I like her boa though X) She's in my Etsy store! :)

I think the next doll I crochet will be made of MUCH thinner yarn. And maybe a smaller hook.....
My mom gave me a whole ton of capsules, like the kind you get out of a candy machine. I'm pretty excited! I see tiny toys brimming on the horizon!! :D

Commisioned Mini Doll!

A couple days ago I got a special order for a 2 1/2" doll!It was really fun to make because I could use up some of the really fine yarn that looks pretty, but is rather impractical.

I was happy when I was told to give the doll red hair. :) I happen to love red haired dolls! ;)
I really want to give her a name!! But alas... I have no right to bestow a name upon a custom order....
the eyes look big because she's so small, they're actually about 9mm...or maybe smaller?
As it turns out, this was a doll FOR a doll! My customer said that she wanted a little toy for a small ball-jointed doll. I've seen these little dolls on the internet (blythe, pullip,dollfie...) I'd love to get one, but I guess they are for SERIOUS collectors. Which means way outta my price range lol. I'll just have to make do with creating my own :)I bet it will be adorable to see her sweet little doll holding mine X) I'm working on another one right now,I think she'll have black hair (which I also happen to love) look for some pics of her soon!
