New Anime Girl!

Well, here she is! Completely finished! I actually used the wrong side for her head, because I thought it would help the eyes stay on better. This is the first time I've used the wrong side, and I actually don't mind it for the face, because it looks smooth. I think I will stick with the right side for all of the other doll body parts.

I absolutely LOVE red haired dolls, and I managed to give this little lady a fairly anime-ish hair style!
I love the yarn her hair is made out of (although I can't remember what it's called..)!
Her dress is made from the sleeve of one of my old shirts (recycling lol), I have a ton of old clothes that can be used up for doll dresses, if only I was a wee bit better at sewing...anyway, I'm going to look up some clothes making tutorials online, and hopefully that will help! ^_^

Also, I made a cute badge for my blog! ( I'm hoping to get one of those html boxes up soon!)

and...a signature! Now I can say goodbye with style! ;)

Cattitude Kitties!

So I came up with the idea of making a basic body shape for an Ami, and then going crazy with details, and this is what came of it: Cattitude Kitties! It took me a while to figure out what kind of animal I wanted them to be, but in the end cats one over bears (teddies are so done) and dogs (I am NOT a dog person). The first one I made, I wanted the theme to be blue, so I used blue yarn for the hair, blue felt for the apron, and blue striped material for her turtleneck. She ended up as  "The Busy Mom Kitty" which was the best theme I could think of.

Her shirt is not very intricate, but I hope with practice, I will get better at making clothing for my dolls!

Making the hair took FOREVER. I peeled apart yarn for a very long time, until each ply was separate, then I laid it across the head and needle-felted it into place. It took a really long time, but It turned out looking nice! :)
My Grandma got me a big Ol' bucket of buttons, so I used them too accessorize my kitties.

I found a blue heart button which went just perfectly with busy mom kitties blouse!

The next kitty I made was way more fun! I've been watching The Pirates Of The Caribbean movies lately, and have been in a pirate-y mood. So Vengeful Pirate Kitty was born!!

I used another button for his belt buckle!

I really love how his eye turned out! It's really fun experimenting with drawing different kinds of eyes for my Amigurumis!

I had kind of a hard time making his hat (I'm not much of a seamstress lol) But In the end, after much frustration, I turned it sideways, and It looked more like a pirate hat than it did from the front....
I'm really happy with how these guys turned out, and hope to make more soon!

Both of these guys are in my Etsy store!

If At First You Don't Succeed......

Ok, I messed up........Remember the tiny doll from a few posts back? The little red haired girl? Well I made her a bit to big for my customers doll....Observe:

The picture is kinda funny though... X)

Needless to say, I had to make another one .....

Had a bit of trouble on the hair... I worked on it for about an hour!
It was my first time ever really working with thread, It was kind of fun.
I had just bought a pack of tiny black and white buttons, they were just about right for her eyes.

The customer loved the new one!
So I guess, all's well that ends well :)

The new doll was just the right size!....Phew....

Commisioned Mini Doll!

A couple days ago I got a special order for a 2 1/2" doll!It was really fun to make because I could use up some of the really fine yarn that looks pretty, but is rather impractical.

I was happy when I was told to give the doll red hair. :) I happen to love red haired dolls! ;)
I really want to give her a name!! But alas... I have no right to bestow a name upon a custom order....
the eyes look big because she's so small, they're actually about 9mm...or maybe smaller?
As it turns out, this was a doll FOR a doll! My customer said that she wanted a little toy for a small ball-jointed doll. I've seen these little dolls on the internet (blythe, pullip,dollfie...) I'd love to get one, but I guess they are for SERIOUS collectors. Which means way outta my price range lol. I'll just have to make do with creating my own :)I bet it will be adorable to see her sweet little doll holding mine X) I'm working on another one right now,I think she'll have black hair (which I also happen to love) look for some pics of her soon!

Patch The Pirate Bag

I'm really sorry everyone! I haven't posted in months, I feel really bad about it! Our new school year started last week. I'm a junior now! :D I've been really lazy about my crafting this summer....surprisingly, starting school back has actually given me new inspiration! I have already made about five things this week! For now I guess I'll show off one of the (few) things I did make during summer break.

Patch and company
Meet patch the pirate bag and his crew! I posted a while back about a monster bag I made for myself. Since then I have started making simple drawstring bags and adding monstery details.for Patch,(the bag with the eye patch of course) I needle felted his eye patch and mouth! Needle felting is so much more convenient then sewing for small details!
Patch

Patch is  my favorite, but he's a close second to zombie guy (betcha can't guess which one that is) Patch, zombie, and the nameless red bag with vertical eyes (who I find extremely creepy) are shoulder bags. The smaller burgundy and ice blue monsters are dice bags. The pink monster is a change purse.

Zombie Guy
I've had crafters block these last few months, however, I went to my cousin's (owlette's) house today, and she supplied me with a ton of very unique buttons that could certainly be used for doll eyes! (and some that look suspiciously like fingernails, don't ask)
Now I have new supplies and inspiration! My creative juices are really flowing! Expect to hear from me again soon!

Oh! and before I forget, I've updated my Etsy store! FREE SHIPPING IN THE US ON EVERYTHING!!!! Check it out!
